Consider the three spirituals you read this evening. 

• What stood out to you about each spiritual?  What struck you as important about each spiritual?
• Which spiritual appealed to you the most?  Why?  What qualities (imagery, language, word choice, etc.) struck you?
• Why do you think people still enjoy spirituals in modern times?
